Legal Clinics throughout Texas

September 15, 2014

Feature

The Texas State Law Library reference librarians created a list of free legal clinics hosted by various bar associations and non-profit organizations throughout the state. These are open to the public, usually do not require an appointment, and allow you to speak with an attorney who could help answer your legal questions or offer legal advice on how you might be able to resolve a legal issue. This list covers clinics that help Texans in 42 counties. Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, El Paso, Houston, San Antonio, and Waco are a few of the larger cities covered.

Nearly all legal clinics have income qualifications, and some clinics only cover certain legal topics (e.g., wills, family law). Some are for veterans only. Others are for the homeless. There may also be language interpreters present. Please read the descriptions for more information and contact the organization hosting the clinic for more details.

If you have questions about this list, please contact us via our Ask a Librarian service or call us at (512) 463-1722.
