The science of persuasion : a litigator's guide to juror decision-making

by Brad Bradshaw. American Bar Association. 2011.
209 pages.

Bradshaw notes, "The ability to persuade is dependent on several things, including the speaker's credibility and likeability, his or her understanding of the audience and how the message is framed". Having earned his PhD in psychology specifically studying persuasion and juror decision making, the author now practices as a litigation consultant. He succeeds in presenting a very accessible book that will assist the trial lawyer in presenting his side to the jury and deflecting the negatives presented by the other side. Numerous pointers for all stages of litigation from jury selection to closing argument are provided.
