Consumer Protection: A Legal Research Guide

March 31, 2014

Feature

The Texas State Law Library reference librarians created legal research guides for specific areas of the law. These guides contain resources that can help you research a legal issue.

The library's guide to consumer protection provides assistance in researching various consumer protection issues, including links to the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and federal statutes enforced or administrated by the Federal Trade Commission. There are also links to "plain English" Texas-specific consumer protection information from Texas state agencies, the Texas Attorney General, and the "People’s Lawyer," Richard M. Alderman. There is also information on who to contact to file a complaint against a company that violates state or federal law. There are also links to library-held titles for consumers and practitioners.

Contact us at (512) 463-1722 or submit a question using our Ask a Librarian service for more information about our legal research guides.
