Texas Independence Day

February 26, 2018

Feature

Texas Independence Day commemorates the adoption of the Texas Declaration of Independence on March 2nd, 1836 at Washington-on-the-Brazos. To help our patrons celebrate, the library is highlighting some of our historical resources.

Braden’s Annotated Texas Constitution provides factual information regarding the origins, development, and contemporary meaning of each section of the Texas Constitution. This publication is available electronically thanks to the Appellate Section of the State Bar of Texas and the permission of the numerous authors.

Our Historical Statutes and Constitutions research guide provides information on both official and unofficial codified laws, session laws, statutory revisions, and the constitutions. It contains links to digitized versions of Gammel's Laws of Texas, Paschal's Digest, as well as the Texas Historical Statutes (1879-1984).
