New SMU COVID-19 Helpline for North Texas Residents

June 4, 2020

Feature

SMU Dedman School of Law has created an emergency helpline that helps North Texas residents access free legal assistance with issues resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The number to call is 214-SMU-COVD (214-768-2683).

The helpline is staffed by current SMU law students working under the supervision of SMU Legal Clinic faculty, and callers will be connected with legal assistance through SMU legal clinics. Callers can ask questions and get assistance with issues like housing, immigration, consumer protection, and more. If necessary, callers may be referred to local attorneys and firms that can provide free legal assistance.

For more information, please see SMU'S announcement about the new helpline. If you have more questions about the law and the COVID-19 pandemic, please see the library's COVID-19 & Texas Law research guide.
